KBR, Inc. announced it had been awarded this major contract by the Basra Oil Company (BOC) to provide Integrated Field Management Services (IFMS) for the Majnoon Oil Field. This “gigantic” field is one of the largest in the world, with estimated reserves exceeding 38 billion barrels.
Service Scope: KBR will provide comprehensive upstream engineering, project and operations management, and maintenance services.
The contract emphasizes the implementation of advanced AI and digital technologies to optimize reservoir performance and modernize field facilities.
Services extend to subsurface drilling and reservoir engineering to ensure an integrated approach to the field’s development and maintenance.
The project is expected to employ approximately 2,000 in-country personnel across Iraq’s engineering and oil field services sectors.
This award builds on KBR’s long-standing relationship with BOC, following a two-year renewal of its Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) contract for the same field in July 2025.
