Equinor is targeting a potentially major oil discovery offshore Namibia, after entering the country’s fast-growing Orange Basin exploration play. The Norwegian energy major has acquired a 17.4% stake in PEL 90 from Chevron subsidiary Harmattan Energy, gaining access to a drill-ready prospect planned for testing in 2026. Equinor says it hopes to find a discovery comparable to recent finds by TotalEnergies and Galp, adding momentum to Namibia’s emergence as a major offshore exploration hotspot. #Equinor #Namibia #OilAndGas #Offshore #Exploration
