Angola’s crude oil production increased to 1.07 million barrels per day (bpd), continuing an upward trend and reaching its highest level since November 2024. Natural gas production also saw a significant gain, reaching its highest output since August 2020.
Angola’s oil production in October 2025 was approximately 1.07 million bpd, a 1% increase from the previous month. This rise was primarily attributed to the ramp-up in new offshore capacities, including production from new projects like Agogo, Begonia, and CLOV Phase 3, which started production earlier in the year. The data indicated a recovery after production briefly dipped below 1 million bpd in July 2025.
Natural gas production in October 2025 reached 84.9 million cubic meters per day. This gain reflects the country’s strategic focus on developing its gas industry to diversify its energy mix. A major milestone occurred in November 2025, with the inauguration of the first national non-associated gas project, the New Gas Consortium (NGC) processing plant in Soyo, which entered its commissioning phase with gas. This project is expected to further boost gas output in the coming months.
Despite these monthly gains, overall production remains below historical peaks of around 2 million bpd in 2008. Angola’s government, through the National Agency for Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels (ANPG), is implementing various strategies, including new licensing rounds, to stabilize and sustain production above the 1 million bpd threshold beyond 2026.
