Otakikpo Onshore Crude Oil Export Terminal in Nigeria, a project launched by Green Energy International Limited (GEIL). This facility is the first wholly indigenous onshore crude export terminal in Nigeria and will serve as an export channel for several oil fields.
The project is the Otakikpo Onshore Crude Oil Export Terminal, an indigenous facility located in the OML 11 area, near Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The initial investment for the first phase of the terminal was $400 million.
The terminal is operated by Green Energy International Limited (GEIL).
It is considered a landmark achievement as the first wholly indigenous crude export terminal in Nigeria and a facility that can open up over 40 “stranded” oil fields for economic contribution.
The terminal has an initial storage capacity of 750,000 barrels, a loading capacity of 360,000 barrels per day, and is designed to be expandable.
