OML 30″ (Oil Mining Lease 30) is a significant onshore oil and gas block in Nigeria’s Niger Delta, featuring multiple producing fields, including the Olomoro Oil and Gas Field, and is known for its significant remaining reserves. The block contains numerous stacked reservoirs and has been in operation for over 50 years, with major players like Shoreline Natural Resources and Heritage Oil operating there.
Situated onshore in the western Niger Delta, approximately 20 kilometers east of Warri. OML 30 contains several producing oil and gas fields, with the Olomoro field being a notable example. The block includes numerous stacked reservoirs, with some fields holding up to 40 such formations.
The fields within OML 30 have been producing for more than 50 years, demonstrating long-term operational history. Shoreline Natural Resources operates the block, with Heritage Oil also being a key player involved in the OML 30 asset.
Disputes have occurred regarding the allocation of licenses and blocks
and Communities in the Niger Delta, where OML 30 is located, have suffered from oil spills and pollution.
