Saipem awarded EnerMech a contract for subsea pre-commissioning services for the Whiptail development in the Stabroek Block offshore Guyana.
The project’s scope of work involves flooding, cleaning, and hydrotesting of subsea risers and flowlines, as well as monitoring and testing of umbilicals from offshore vessels and the Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit.
This contract marks EnerMech’s fifth subsea project in Guyana, building on previous work for Liza Phase 2, Payara, Yellowtail, and Uaru. EnerMech is also investing in a new facility in Georgetown and acquiring specialized equipment to support current and future projects. The Whiptail project, ExxonMobil’s sixth development in the region, is a $12.7 billion undertaking expected to increase daily production capacity by approximately 250,000 barrels by late 2027.
